Serene Waves Mandala is a study in tranquility and the rhythmic grace of the natural world. Inspired by the ebb and flow of oceanic tides, this piece was created entirely freehand through my practice of meditative repetition. Each dot and line is hand-piped in heavy-body acrylic, building a sculptural surface that captures both light and movement.

Rooted in South Indian kolam and rangoli traditions, the mandala translates ephemeral ritual geometry into a permanent, tactile experience. At its heart lies a luminous dichroic glass center, from which intricate floral and wave-like forms radiate outward. This expansion reflects a sense of emotional depth and balance, mirroring the cooling energy of the sea.

The palette features a subtle blending of blue and pearlescent white pigments that shift with the changing light. From a distance, the symmetry appears effortless; up close, the evidence of the hand becomes visible—the deliberate, intentional piping that makes each petal unique.
