Serene Blooms No. 2 is a study in light and disciplined repetition. Created entirely freehand through my practice of meditative piping, the work features a sophisticated white-on-white palette that relies on physical depth rather than color contrast to define its form. Each pearlescent dot and line is hand-piped in heavy-body acrylic, building a sculptural surface that rises from the canvas in a rhythmic, tactile relief.

Rooted in South Indian kolam and rangoli traditions, the mandala translates ephemeral ritual geometry into permanence. At its heart lies a dichroic glass center, acting as a luminous anchor from which floral forms radiate outward. These patterns create a sense of both expansion and containment, mirroring the organic growth of a blooming flower.

The use of iridescent pigments and subtle orange highlights ensures the work shifts with the changing light of the day. From a distance, the symmetry appears effortless and exact; up close, the evidence of the hand becomes visible—the slight variations that mark the work as measured, intentional, and human.
