Expectation Mandala | Iridescent 3D Textured Original Painting
Original, one-of-a-kind artwork.
Expectation Mandala is a study in anticipation and the beauty of asymmetrical balance. Part of the "Off the Center" series, this work breaks from traditional radial symmetry, allowing the mandala to bloom from the corner and interact dynamically with the negative space. Created entirely freehand through my practice of meditative repetition, each dot and line is hand-piped in heavy-body acrylic, building a sculptural surface that rises from the canvas.
Rooted in South Indian henna-style patterns and kolam traditions, the work translates ephemeral ritual geometry into a permanent, tactile experience. At the heart of the radiating form lies a luminous dichroic glass center, acting as a focal point that shifts in color as light moves across the room. The transition from the densely textured patterns to the open space of the canvas evokes a sense of expansion and looking forward.
Designed to anchor a room with a sense of modern grace and structural clarity, Expectation Mandala functions as both a contemplative center and a sophisticated sculptural focal point.
