Elephant on Elegant Silk
As most of my canvas paintings have an iridescent background, I am always asked if the painting is on silk. Here’s my third painting of a Textured henna-style acrylic Elephant Painting on silk mounted on 1.5” deep wooden panel. The silk used here is an old silk blouse piece that I repurposed for this painting.
I am creating this series of paintings on silk with a specific purpose of giving back to the South Asian community - all profit from the sale of paintings on upcycled silk sarees will go towards supporting South Asian individuals & families suffering from domestic violence and emotional abuse. Original One of a kind elephant painting created with a unique technique of piping paint on upcycled silk saree with intricate patterns and iridescent acrylic colors. The unique texture of the silk adds depth and movement to the piece, while the henna-inspired patterns on the elephant create a sense of grandeur and majesty. The iridescent colors give the painting an ethereal quality, as if the elephant is glowing from within.
